This place just gets better and better. So many memories have started and ended here. Security checkpoints are generally painless and things move as efficiently as one would hope. Lots of good parking options, too, depending on if you are picking up, dropping off, or leaving your vehicle while going out of town.
Great international airport with three carousels for baggage claim. Enjoyed some Founders & Brewery Vivant while waiting.
I have been flying out of GRR for years and the experience continues to improve. More restaurant options and the ability to travel between terminals without exiting security is great. It's a much more comfortable place to hang out now.
Really want to love this place. Updated, renovated, business lounge, food choices, kids play area BUT no Premier Access. If you want more business travelers to fly out of GRR, you have to have a Premier Access lane.
Renovations and updates are always nice, but getting lied to your face is never. The CEO just yesterday said they consolidated security into one area for the passenger experience, but he's lying. Maybe it was for people to spend more money in the terminal or it lowered costs overall, but it definitely doesn't improve the passenger experience. When there were separate security points, it would never take more me than 5 minutes to go through security at any time I flew. Now, it takes upwards of 30 minutes. Need to say, my passenger experience is off to a rough start. If the Ford Airport wants to compete with larger airports, congratulations, you are. You're now in the running for worst passenger experience for security checkpoints.
