They lied about price matching baby wipes! I called ahead to make sure they would price match Walmart, and they said they would. I was almost out of baby wipes so I woke up at 7am and drove to target to pick up the wipes as the winter storm warning was in effect. The manager DEREK then told me at the checkout that he would not price match me for walmarts price. Even after he knew that one of his employees told me they would! He said "there is no way I will price match that, it is just not going to happen".
Typical one stop shopping spot and the lines weren't more than a person or two at checkout, so it went pretty smoothly.
Came into this target and usually I always have a good experience as I am a daily shopper at target but on 54th st and Clyde Park. I decided to come into this target since I was passing by, I was walking around looking at the sales and doing some shopping. When I felt someone was following me I then turned and each time I looked up from whatever I was doing there was an employee watching me as if they assumed I would steal something. I felt very uncomfortable and thought I was overthinking then when I went into the dressing room to try on a few clothing items, the girl that was working in the fitting rooms, spoke to me in a rude way. I felt very uncomfortable and discriminated. Not to mention when we where checking out in the self checkout the man who was there was literally standing near us just starring at us while we inserted our money to pay for our items. But when a another couple approached the self check out he backed away and went back to his cash register. I literally felt so uncomfortable my hands started to shake as I inserted the money. I don't know what we did to deserve such horrible customer service, but I know I will not be coming back to this target ever again.
The store compared to others in the grand rapids area is soooo much cleaner. It's also a very large store and have always had great customer service here. I wish all the stores in the area were like this one. Worth the drive.
Nice store - love that they have Starbucks and Pizza Hut inside. This Target is bright and clean and they have a good selection in each department. It is very out of the way though.
Maybe he should let his employees know what the rules are before another person has to go through all of that! This was the 28th st location by I-96
