Yet, now, I get to find another PA...
Extremely poor quality of care from Chris VanRyan.
I am filing a BBB report.
In June, I was rushed from one of Spectrum's Urgent Care Centers to Butterworth downtown due to a kidney infection that had turned septic, and I was going into cardiac arrest with a temperature of 103.
I have been a patient for 7 uninterrupted years with zero missed appointments, and zero issues regarding financing or "other" patient demands.
Dr. Clegg has never meet me a day in his life.
While I appreciate and honor everyone's time this service approach doesn't reflect appreciation of client's business. After all, the patient is the CLIENT paying the Physician's salary - what am I missing?
After a day at Butterworth I was diagnosed with Pyelonephritis (severe kidney disease ). Because I had gone septic and the infection had been in my system for about 6 months I was returned to Butterworth 2 days later after the prescription wasn't stopping the constant septic symptoms of my disease.
One would think that Physician Services are provided for FREE given the poor customer approach when working with this office. Lengthy Hold times, little flexibility to adjust previous appointments. A call to reschedule an appointment (within less than the "required notification time" - better make sure you know what that is for an early morning appointment) may result in practice dismissal.
I returned to Urgent Care centers 3 more times following my diagnosis due to the severity of the disease. In this time, I made 2 additional appointments with my PA Heather Dickinson. I was not able to make those appointments as I was bed-ridden and unable to leave my house due to the pain.
My primary care physician, Dr. Kern is wonderful. I have also been cared for by Physicians Dickinson and Garwood and they have all been good to me. Whenever I need to get same day care the staff politely do their best to set an appointment for me that day. I am usually shown great care with no long waits.
Because I had another appointment already scheduled in that month, and then missed all 3, Dr. Clegg has decided that I am no longer able to be a patient of PA Heather Dickinson. Because my Urgent Care and Butterworth dates are not on the same days as my appointments with my PA, Dr. Clegg believes that I should have still been able to make those appointments, and that my "excuses" for missing my appointments are not good enough cause to allow me to stay on with my PA of 7 years.
What a way to treat a long term patient.
I have been with PA Heather Dickinson through my Pituitary Adenoma (tumor) and every other health issue I have had due to that tumor over the last 7 years.
Primary care was with Lowell Family Medical, but they dropped the ball too many times so I switched to Metro Health Cascade. Best decision I could have made for my medical needs.
Because I went into septic shock, from a deadly kidney infection I had for 6 months that hospitalized me, because I missed 3 appointments and all of my paperwork from Butterworth and Urgent Care aren't good enough "cause".
