The location is amazing, tho parking is a little scarce except for municipal lots.

Granted, I went on a early Sunday afternoon, but I thought the service here was top notch. Waitress at the table knew all the menu, bartender made great recommendations, and the guy in the shop was great to engage with and talk about distilling process...then gave me a tour of their cocktail lounge and old still.

New Holland's Grand Rapids location is a really fun place to stop at. The beer selection is always changing, and they have a lot to offer for all tastes. Anyone should be able to find a drink they like here. The architecture and design is incredible, and the upstairs space includes a separate cocktail bar. The food menu looks good, but the wait service was poor. Many open table yet a long wait to be seated, and slow service after that. The food didn't taste bad, but nothing wowed us either. This place would be better for drinks and appetizers, than it is for full meals.

As for the drinks, The Knickerbocker specializes in cocktails despite the New Holland parentage. You can still get the full slate of NH beers here though, plus some specialties too!

I am from S. Indiana. but lived in G.R. for 36 years. I went to the Knickerbocker for the first time on a Friday night Dec 22 and our large party was seated promptly with 5:15 reservations. Parking was $2 and a block away, but they took the $2 off the bill. Drinks were excellent. Tried a few as well. They were out of some Dragon's Milk varieties though, so bummer. Great looking place; fun bar on 2nd floor and nice outdoor area. I had the french dip special and it was excellent. My son tried his first raw oyster...nice. The service was great and food was good.

Beer, liquor, and cocktails are amazing. I found the food to be very good, although a bit highbrow. The complaint that isn't enough basic bar food may be a valid one...but there are plenty of places around for that.

Staff was kind and helpful, ready to take your order. Drinks and food were both fantastic and our server was ready worth suggestions on good food, beers, and spirits. Atmosphere felt like a super pricey restaurant without the pricey tag. Definitely going to be returning!

Lots of great menu options. It was difficult to choose what to eat. Visited with our vegetarian friend who had lots of options to choose from.

Check it out. I enjoyed it.
