Upfront. One visit three weeks ago. Was not really impressed. The atmosphere is very nice, the outdoor area especially. The service was mediocre. Our server seemed to find every question painful and every request had to be made twice, sometimes more. If you're like me and appreciate a good pour, this isn't the place. Note to management. This ain't Chicago. I had the spicy marinated pork and was definitely not impressed. I realize doing good Korean is a challenge, but if you're going to hang your hat on it, do it well. The food isn't bad, it's just not great. The atmosphere is nice enough to set you up for disappointment.
I really wanted to like it here as the aesthetics were quite pleasing and the staff was great. However, my friend and I went there for lunch this afternoon and there was a $2 up charge for hot sauce which I thought was quite steep, but the kicker was when my friend received the wrong meal and didn't realize it until about a quarter of the way in. As a response to this my friend was given a $10 off coupon.... WITH the stipulations that he must spend $50 in order to get the $10 off. What a slap in the face... hey sorry we messed up your meal here's a cheap coupon. We both work in the service industry and that's not how things are done. We still tipped well, but won't be ever returning.
I don't normally write reviews but this place definitely deserves it. Everything from the drinks to food was delicious and interesting. If you're expecting General Tso's Chicken or a well done, plain cheeseburger then you should probably go somewhere else because I feel like I've never had anything like this in GR and I would highly recommend it. Our server, Jenni, was super nice and helpful with any questions about the menu. All of the flavors were fresh and new to me so when there's 1000 typical burger and fries restaurants in town this place makes eating out actually enjoyable and fun. Long story short: if you want to try something different in town then check this place out.
Ando is truly an amazing dining experience. The Bibimbap dish is one of the best dinners I have ever had and visiting for just the sushi rolls is worth it (same ownership as Maru Sushi so you can't go wrong with any roll) I highly recommend making reservations if your group is over 4.
Pretty good all around. Great service, good drinks. The sushi was good, but a bit limited menu. Ramen was pretty good.
