Went here for the first time during Restaurant Week GR. They were not promoting Restaurant Week; we had to ask for the menu. The food was nothing special. The twice baked potato rosettes were dry and the green beans did not taste very fresh.
It seemed like Crowne Plaza took up the cost of a messed up situation created by Aryana restaurant.
I told the manager at the front desk that I had not added any tip at all as I was not given a check or a receipt for the meal. The manager was kind enough to take off $5 from the total bill.
I would never recommend Aryana restaurant to anyone! I did not have time to make it a big issue as I had a 3 hour drive back home, otherwise I would have asked to Aryana to give me proof of the tip i.e. signed copy of receipt with my signature.
Just to be clear I always tip on meals somewhere around 15-20% but I don't like being conned into it. I wondered if they added automatic gratuity to the meal and was told that Aryana does not do that.
I would give this place ZERO stars. They added a 40% tip to the bill without my approval.
On one of these nights Monday 7/19/16 evening I got my food delivered to my room. The price tag on the menu was 20.99 for the meal. The hotel staff lady who brought the food did not bring along a check or a receipt for me to sign and add tip. I was just told that the total will be added to my room bill.
Not really a good restaurant, food wasn't that great and service wasn't very timely at all
I stayed at Crowne Plaza in grand rapids last week for about a week for a work assignment. I ordered room delivery a couple of times.
Food was very poor in quality but that wasn't the main issue. When I checked out today (7/23/2016) I noticed a dinner charge for 35.xx dollars on my bill. When I inquired, the manager at the front desk contacted Aryana restaurant and got me a detailed bill. According to that bill my total with taxes was around $25 and then there was a $10.xx tip added to the bill. I wasn't given a check to sign on and add tip when I had gotten the meal. It seemed like somebody at Aryana decided to give themselves a 40% tip!!!!
