I was there in the food court with my son and husband, (which we are native American) and we were getting seated to eat, and a group of nurses kept staring and my family and I and made some terrible comments about how much they hate Native Americans. Then when I was in the doctors office I was second in line to make my sons next appointment, then I just got skipped so I left and told the lady at the front desk to have her call me to schedule my sons next visit. It was my first time going to that hospital for my son today, and honestly I don't want to take him back there with how disrespected I felt with my whole first visit. My question is aren't there rules about discrimination?
My son was flown from petoskey hospital in critical condition, he got down to devos and they told me my baby was very sick and his outcome was not good. They found out what was wrong and tried everything they could to help my little man. At the end Ben the social worker came and talked to me and told me my baby may not make it. They have an amazing staff everyone there is so caring when my son passed away their support team was by my side through all of it. I strongly recommend this hospital. Still to this day I get calls asking if i need someone to talk to or "vent" not many big hospitals will do that or even small ones. This hospital is amazing if I could I would give them 100 stars.
My son was born prematurely (very unexpectedly). The NICU at Helen DeVos is phenomenal! It is extremely hard to have your baby in the hospital, but HDVCH makes it as easy as they possibly can. The care is wonderful, and the nurses have so much love and care for their tiny patients.
This place is a home to kids i hope they make it bigger for more kids/ Go sub to my youtube awadhir gustavo
My daughter was having a lot of issues going on with her. We first went by ambulance to mercy health (1st choice) then we were transferred to Helen Devos. All the nurses were wonderful just like Mercy Health. When the social worker Ben came in to talk about moving her to pine rest or forest view he was EXTREMELY rude! He acts like kids are just a number. He really should not be working with kids if that is how he feels. To parent they are our number 1. I understand nobody with love my kids the way I do but she is a kid not a number. I will never come back here! The hospital needs to filter out people like this! Also people that are staying with their kids that maybe have cancer or other major things going I feel so sad for. Some parents her are not working because they stay with their kids, shame on you Helen Devos children's hospital for charging $12.00 for a salad! They don't need to charge what they do! I feel bad for some of those parents that's have to eat here while their kids are SICK! Just remembered that before you donate to all these places asking "would you like to round up to Helen Devos children's hospital"
