The employees were so friendly and knowledgeable, and inviting! He worked on it all day and figured out 90% of it on his own, and when he got stuck the staff jumped right in to assist. This place is a gem and one of a kind!
This place is amazing. Helpful and friendly staff and a one of kind community bike repair shop. Highly recommend you give them a try.
Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff, and a great place to buy, maintain, and learn about bicycles! Wide variety of affordable bikes, and you can build or customize your own at the cost of the parts. Highly recommended.
One of the shops goals is to have people come IN and work on their own bikes along side others. Unfortunately, it appeared to me that many people just drop off their bikes to get worked on by the staff.
I took my 15 year old son there today to fix his bike. Last year he wiped out on it and took out both of the shifter gears. We got there right at noon and he (yes just himself) worked on his bike and fixed two flat tires, the brakes and replaced both of the shifters! This whole process took him a few hours, but I was so proud of him! Plus, the best part: total cost today was $13!!!!
There aren't many businesses that I think deserve higher than the five star rating, but this one one of those places.
If it's at all possible, I would suggest staying there and doing the work yourself! You will save a ton of money, you'll have your bike done that day and the experience will be priceless.
My son was beaming when we left and he had a great time! What a great community concept co-op company! We will be coming back.
You can pay $5 per day to use the shop and tools or $50 for the whole year. The used parts are very reasonable, and some of them are free! Even the new parts are very cheap.
These guys are awesome. Will help you work on your own bike and teach/show you everything you need to know. Really relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Can't beat the price. They helped me practically rebuild my bike for $7. 10/10 would go back again for any bike maintenance help.
I needed to get my bike up and running again, but I needed some parts and my tools were really inadequate for the job. Went to The Spoke Folks and they had everything I needed (wheel quick release skewer, cable caps, and a bar end cap). Their tools make working on a bike much, much easier and saved me a ton of time and frustration. Additionally, I received some great help and advice on how to do things the right way. All this - taking my bike from unrideable to fully functioning in around an hour - cost me only $7 ($5 base price, $2 in parts). If your bike needs repair and you don't mind getting your hands dirty (and learning), The Spoke Folks is the best value that you're going to find.
