I am a former patient of Dr. Duiven and in my personal opinion, the absence of on-site, patient accessible administrative staff shows up in difficulties with billing, insurance claims and reimbursement. By comparison with any other medical provider, it is a disaster.
Despite receiving promises of working with insurance and despite being doubly insured with two premium policies, I was handed a pile of rejections and a surprise four figure invoice two months after my first appointment. I cannot speak to the effectiveness of his treatments as my treatment stopped that day; I can say subsequent providers managed this step with no out of pocket cost to me and no insurance company interaction.
In my time of need, I did not appreciate the continuity of my care to be dependent on the effectiveness of my new role as his outsourced billing department. Claims of "Dr. Duiven would be happy to cooperate with you to help you obtain reimbursement" are not well demonstrated. Any prospective patient should explore that closely. For me, it was one more headache I just did not need.
