Do you remember going to your buddy's bachelor pad after he cleaned it up? Not all the lights worked, the sofa had a small hole in it and there were weird stains on the back of said couch but it had the all the necessary elements for a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom; the kind of place where parking wasn't great? Bring dish soap and request a room where parking is near, also consider the purchase of ear plugs as the walls are perfect sound transmitters. It's not bad but it isn't great.
This hotel is okay. The suites are clean. Mine had minor plumbing issues. The toilet ran all day and night and the bathroom sink drained so slow, I bought a mini-plunger while I was out and fixed it.
Wonderful front desk people extremely helpful and friendly. Got us the best rate imaginable with dinner served four nights a week and breakfast everyday. When I mentioned I was allergic to animals they offered to send someone to shampoo the rugs if my allergies were kicked up at all. Clean rooms, granite counter tops, full kitchens, extremely comfortable nice firm beds, bright bathroom with large vanity tons of storage for an extended stay. A pool along with a hot tub a basic but clean exercise room with treadmills a bike and free weights. What more could you want?
The rooms are clean. The furniture is pretty standard cheap hotel 1980's chic.
Negatives: Basketball hoop is set for a child's height. This was unfortunate, as we had to find another place for our son to practice and the hoop was not adjustable. Also, the dishwasher was as loud as a freight train. I was also surprised that there was not a coffee machine in each room - I had to drag my cranky self to the lobby for breakfast hour. The breakfast also fit into the negatives, as they had canned fruit cocktail (YUCK!!) served on Styrofoam plates.
Positives: Excellent location and it is truly delightful to have a full kitchen in a hotel room. With Trader Joe's located so close, we were all set up to have a great experience. The staff were absolutely delightful and THAT'S the reason why I give this hotel so many stars!! Friendly, polite, helpful, diverse - really amazing. I was brought back to today's bleak reality when I exited my room and found a pick up truck outside with a confederate flag.
These suites are amazing! More like an efficiency apartment that a hotel room. Clean and well organized. Friendly, helpful staff. Delicious, abundant breakfast. Private room entrances lend a greater sense of security. Pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. Kitchen with full size appliances and dishes. Landscaping, courtyards, and walkways all well taken care of. Best stay away from home we've ever had.
Parking is decent, but not easy to get to or navigate. However, every suite has about 4 ways to get to it, so there are several "sweet spot" parking spaces, making sure you don't have to haul stuff up from too far away even if the good spots are taken.
For the price, it hits right down the middle. The location is almost perfectly centered between downtown GR and the airport, on the Beltline and 28th, in between two malls, so traffic can get hairy, but there are several options for getting to any destination around here.
